Today has been a big day for the royal formerly known as Baby Sussex. He and his parents, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, shared their first public appearance as a family today. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also revealed his name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. And he met his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. That’s a lot for a baby who is only two days old, but is practice for his future serving the United Kingdom.
The Duke and Duchess “are so incredibly grateful for the warm wished and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago,” said a statement released on behalf of the royal family.
This afternoon, local time, Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to Archie, her eighth great-grandchild, at Windsor Castle. Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, and The Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland were also present for the momentous occasion.
For her first public appearance as a mum, Meghan wore a white sleeveless trench-style dress and nude pumps. Prince Harry was decidedly dressed more formal than when he announced the birth of Archie on May 6th. He wore a grey suit, black tie, white shirt, and brown shoes. Both wore beaming smiles of joy.
