Bill Cosby will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Disgraced funnyman, who once was affectionately referred to as “America’s Dad,” Bill Cosby was sentenced in Norristown, PA to three to 10 years for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in 2004.

"This was a serious crime," Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill said, reports CNN. "Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The day has come, the time has come."

Officials escorted Cosby from the courtroom in handcuffs to jail, until it’s determined in which Pennsylvania state prison he’ll serve his sentence. He was also ordered to pay $25,000 plus the costs of prosecution.

The judge ruled that Cosby will be classified as a “sexually violent predator.” As a result, he’ll have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, engage in mandatory counseling with a treatment provider until he dies, and notify the community that a “sexually violent predator” lives in the area for his lifetime.

He was convicted in April of aggravated indecent assault. He declined to speak prior to sentencing. His attorneys have filed an appeal.
