Box-Out - The act of positioning yourself (after a shot goes up) between the opposing player and the basket, to rebound the ball in anticipation of a missed shot.
"BOX OUT!" For those of us lucky enough to play organized basketball, we've all heard that phrase yelled by our coach at the top of her lungs more than once. Many coaches love players who box out, because boxing out give always gives the smaller guy a chance to win a rebound. Boxing out reveals your effort towards the game. You don't have to be tall or big or fast, you just have to want it more than the other player.
Straight, No Chaser - I don't care if she's taller than you, box her out of the way!
