What is a Bank Shot in Basketball?
Bank Shot - A shot that bounces off the Backboard, then into the basket.
A bank shot is used usually when the shot is taken from either side of the key. The key to nailing down the bank shot is the placement of your shot on the top corner of the painted box on the backboard. In theory, the use of the backboard increases your chances of scoring when shooting from down near the baseline.
Straight, No Chaser - Bank $hots are like your semi-cool uncle. They're fun to be around every once in a while just to mix things up, but eventually he just gets boring.
