What Is A 2-for-1 In Basketball?
2-for-1 - A clock manipulation strategy that sees, during the final few possessions of a period, a team hold onto or shoot the ball in an attempt to maximize their possessions and minimize their opponent's shot attempts.
Example: Rockets have the ball with 40 seconds left in the quarter, so they must get a shot off and leave enough time (after their opponents 24 seconds) for the last possession of the quarter. Usually this last possession lasts under 10 seconds.
Straight, No Chaser - Maximize your possessions, minimize theirs
